General Rules:

1.  All exhibitors must pay admission fees before entering grounds.

2. It is unlawful to bring alcoholic beverages or controlled substances onto Woodford County Fairgrounds. All drivers on fairgrounds must be licensed.

3. Pets are allowed as long as they are on leashes and are kept under control at all times. Dogs that are assistance animals are allowed.

4. Announcements the day of events take precedence over written or previous verbal announcements. Officials may cancel or combine any show classes they deem necessary.

5. Open classes are for all exhibitors within the Commonwealth of Kentucky unless otherwise specified. Volunteer Fair Board members and members of their families are eligible to enter competitions.

6. For exhibit information, i.e., enter exhibits, rules and regulations, judging, checking out, etc., see individual division, department or class for specific instructions. Exhibits will not be open to public until entries have been judged. A field crops, vegetables and fruits must have been grown in Kentucky during the year 2024 unless otherwise stated.

7. Judges’ decisions are final. No premiums shall be awarded to any animal or article without competition unless the judge considers it worthy. If only one exhibit in class, second place premium will be awarded.

8. The Woodford County Fair Association, all of its employees, agents, and volunteers accept no responsibility, liability for accidents, injury or loss of personal property relating to events, but will use every precaution to prevent same. Once an entry fee is paid to enter an event, you assume the risks and dangers of that event. The WCFA insurance does not cover you or your property as a participant. No refunds.

9. Any premium check not cashed within 60 days after the check date will be forfeited to the Woodford County Fair. Direct premium discrepancies to  Mary Lou Watkins, (859) 229-9461 after July 15, 2024.

10. All times listed are E.D.T. Refunds will not be issued in the event of inclement weather or if weather events require early closure of the fair.

Kentucky Health Requirements

All livestock/animals offered for sale or exhibition at Kentucky County fairs shall meet the following regulations according to KRS Chapter 257:
a. 302 KAR 20:040 (entry into Kentucky)
b. 302 KAR 20:065 (sale and exhibition of Kentucky origin livestock)

Please be advised that Livestock Health Regulations are subject to change at any time.

Under Kentucky Revised Statutes 247.4027, a farm animal activity sponsor, farm animal professional or other person does not have the duty to eliminate all risks of injury of participation in farm animal activities. There are inherent risks that you voluntarily accept if you participate in farm animal activities.

No person on the fairgrounds may treat an animal in an inhumane manner. The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a reasonable person, informed and experienced in generally accepted animal training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be cruel, abusive, and inhumane.

Woodford County Fair Rules for All Horse Show Participants

1. Negative Coggins test and health papers (within 12 months) must be presented at registration.
2. Exhibitors 18 years and under are strongly encouraged to wear an ASTM approved equestrian helmet.
3. Riders 3 years and under may show only in classes in which the horse is led by an adult.
4. Horses must remain in horse show areas as designated.
5. Horses may warm up in the horse show arena during the registration period before the show. Horses must be registered for classes and contestants must sign a release before entering the show arena for warm up. No riding is allowed before a release is signed.
6. During warm up before classes outside of the arena, please stay in designated warm up areas and please ride no faster than a jog, trot or favorite gait at a reasonable and controlled pace. Please be considerate of abilities and actions of other riders and horses to keep everyone safe.
7. Anyone seen or suspected of abusing a horse will be ejected from the show with no refunds.
8. Horse show management or any personnel associated with the Woodford County Fair cannot be held responsible for injury or damage to persons, horses or equipment.
9. Everyone understands they ride at their own risk.
10. A veterinarian is on call. Veterinary services are provided (at contestant’s expense) by Rood and Riddle, 859-233-0331.

APPLICABLE TO ALL PAGEANTS AND CONTESTS

The Pageant Committee reserves the right to dismiss at any time any contestant who does not show the proper amount of cooperation and courtesy to committee members, consultants and fellow contestants. Judges’ decisions are final. Additional information and entry forms are available at www.woodfordcountyfairky.com. Registration deadlines could be extended depending on number of entries.

Photograph and film footage may be taken during the Woodford County Fair, which may include you or your family recognizable image in pictures or in video.  By attending this fair, you or your family, grant permission for your likeness to be photographed or filmed.  You authorize the Woodford County Fair to use the photographs, film in print, digital, video or web-based format for its promotional needs and its archives.
